Normal Web Hosting and or WordPress Hosting Customers:
Backup data is kept for a maximum of 7 days before being replaced with the latest incremental version.
Hostking does not guarantee backups, hence it is advisable that you keep a separate backup of your files and databases remotely (e.g. on your computer’s hard drive or external storage device).
Daily backups are made of the user’s home directory as well as databases. The user’s home directory will include website content, web logs and any mail that was on the server at the time that backup was completed. Any mail arriving after the backup had completed and downloaded before the next backup took place or it will not have been included in the backup.
Backup Restore Tools in cPanel and Plesk allows customers to restore web files and databases from their recent backups.
If needed, restores can also be requested via Support Team.
VPS Servers:
For VPS Customers we cannot guarantee backups. We recommend all VPS Server Clients perform their own offsite Backups to protect against any unforseen circumstances or for disaster recovery.
Additional Information:
Note# In the event of a disaster, we store full server backups on a weekly basis. Shared Hosting Accounts that are cancelled, are kept up to 30 days before being cleared.
