Our spam filters at times will return the following error:

Your message to <xxxx@xxxxxx.com> was classified as SPAM. Please add more content, cut down on HTML links, use fewer naughty words etc. Also, ask your IT dept to make sure your mailserver has REVERSEDNS, SPF, DKIM, and is not on any black lists. Your score: 990

The above error indicates that a few things happened causing emails to be picked up as spam.

The person or sender sending to you has a misconfigured DNS record or their ISP/Hosting company has a bad mail server setup.

In most cases its DNS records so best to get their hosting company to check their:

  1. SPF record
  2. DKIM record

If it still fails then its possible the host or company has no PTR record(Reverse DNS) which is a standard today and must exist for mailing purposes.
